I bought the Aloha shirt and capris for a snorkeling trip in the Bahamas. Despite taking steps to acquire a base tan before going, I knew my sensitive skin would still be susceptible to the sun on an all-day boat trip. I felt a little silly snorkeling in what felt like a full body suit while my friends were all in bikinis, but boy am I glad I did. My only regret is that I didn't buy the long sleeved version, as I still got a pretty bad burn on my forearms despite reapplying 50 SPF to them after every snorkeling stop. My companions all got really bad burns on their backs and chests, but the UV Skinz products I used saved me from an extremely painful flight home. I will be purchasing additional shirts and pants for my next trip. Although the products are not designed or marketed as providing the same function as traditional diving wetsuits, I do believe the shirt and pants kept me warmer in the water than a traditional bathing suit. I was able to stay in much longer than everyone else without getting cold, which was a great bonus feature. I should also mention I am plus sized, and their selection for us bigger folks is true to size and I am especially grateful for that.

I love this top. I found it using google search and decided to purchase after reading the positive reviews. The top is comfortable and dries quickly, and provides plenty of coverage for those areas that tend to burn even with SPF: chest, back, and shoulders. I liked it so much I bought one for my sister for her birthday!

I am unable to use any of the sunscreens my dermatologist recommend without developing a severe rash. I have also had several bouts of basal and squamous cell skin cancers. The high neck on this rash guard is perfect! I still try to avoid too much sun time without taking shade breaks. I am vacationing in sunny hot Gulf Shores at present and I am not burned at all on skin protected by the rash guard!
