You Should Be Wearing Bamboo

Bamboo isn’t just for pandas, anymore. The grass is being used to make everything from furniture to cutting boards, and even toothbrushes. A quick search for “bamboo” on Amazon presents you with over 90,000 creative uses of the plant.

One of the most exciting uses of bamboo is for fabric. It’s hard to believe, but bamboo can be made into bed sheets and clothing. In fact, bamboo viscose fabric is one of the most innovative fabrics on the market.

What Is Bamboo Viscose?

Bamboo viscose, also known as bamboo rayon, is a regenerated cellulose fiber. As other rayon, wood pulp is treated with solvents using the “viscose process” to create fibers that are woven into fabric.

The end result is a material with inherit properties that are perfect for use in UPF 50+ sunwear.

Why Use Bamboo Viscose Fabric?

There are many benefits to using bamboo viscose fabric over alternatives such as cotton. Here are the reasons why we introduced a collection of bamboo-based sun protection clothing.

Incredibly Soft

Bamboo viscose fabric has a soft, luxurious feel.

Durable and Long-Lasting

The fabric is strong and “pill” resistant.

Moisture Wicking

Keeps you drier in high humidity or while exercising.

Lightweight and Breathable

Keeps you cooler on hot, sunny days.

Anti-Fungal & Anti-Bacterial

Bamboo has naturally antimicrobial properties.

Resists Odors

Those antimicrobial properties prevent a foul stench.

There is also an environmental benefit to using bamboo products. It is self-sustaining and requires very little water. Plus, its antimicrobial properties eliminate the need for pesticides and fertilizers.

If you haven’t tried clothing from bamboo, you don’t know what you are missing. Here are some of our customer favorites to introduce you to this amazing material.
