Partnering for Prevention: UV Skinz x IMPACT Melanoma

At UV Skinz, our mission has always been clear: to protect as many people as possible from the harmful effects of UV exposure, especially the youngest and most vulnerable among us. That mission is personal, and it’s at the heart of everything we do.

That’s why we’re proud to officially partner with IMPACT Melanoma, the nation’s leading non-profit dedicated to significantly reducing the incidence of melanoma in the United States and saving lives. This collaboration is about more than shared values—it’s about driving real, measurable change by combining sun-safe gear with life-saving prevention education.

Why IMPACT Melanoma?

Like us, IMPACT Melanoma believes prevention starts with awareness—and that prevention and early detection saves lives. Their programs include accessibility to sunscreen in public spaces, prevention education programs for outdoor workers, promoting adoption of sun safe habits among college students, and programs throughout the country promoting the importance of being sun safe 365 days a year.

Together, we saw an opportunity: What if we could pair their educational reach with the kind of protective clothing we’ve spent years perfecting?

Together, We Made an Impact in May

During Skin Cancer Awareness Month, we launched our partnership with IMPACT Melanoma to help get sun protection and sun safety education into more families’ hands.

As part of our annual My First Skinz campaign, we included a free UPF 50+ baby sun & swim shirt with every order throughout the month. But this year, we introduced something new: customers had the option to donate their free baby shirt directly to IMPACT Melanoma’s No Sun for Babies program.

Many of you chose to give. Because of this, hundreds of baby shirts were donated and are now being distributed by IMPACT Melanoma alongside educational resources to help new parents and caregivers understand the risks of early UV exposure and the power of prevention.

Sun Safety Doesn’t End in May

Skin Cancer Awareness Month may be over, but this partnership is just getting started.

We’ll continue working with IMPACT Melanoma throughout the year in meaningful ways. That includes supporting their No Sun for Babies program with UPF 50+ sun blankets, providing protective gear for sun safety events and prevention education programs, and collaborating on future educational and awareness outreach that help families understand how and why to protect their skin.

We may not know exactly what every project will look like yet, but we do know this: we’re committed to continuing this work, together.
