Boy's Rash Guards FAQ
A rash guard is an athletic, more form fitting swim shirt that was developed by surfers to protect your skin from sunburns, chafing, and board rash.
Rash guards were primarily used by surfers, but have grown in popularity and are used as swim shirts or sun protective shirts at the beach or pool.
When choosing a rash guard, look for ones that offer sun protection, also known as an ultraviolet protection factor or UPF rating. We recommend a UPF rating of 50+, which protects you from over 98% of the sun’s UVA and UVB rays.
Your kid can wear swim trunks or board shorts with a rash guard. If you want even more comprehensive sun coverage, you could also have him pair a rash guard with swim leggings.
When it comes time to choose a rash guard for your kid, keep a few factors in mind including the following:
